How the Show Works
The Golden West Championship Show is a little different...
- Most of the classes are for models that have qualified in previous shows (except for Hartland, Performance and Medallions which do not require pre-qualification).
- For entrants who have models that are not pre-qualified, there are also many "Last Chance" classes for your models!
- Any model that placed 1st or 2nd at any of the qualifying shows is eligible to show in Champ classes at the 2026 Champ Show.
- Qualifying shows for the 2026 Champ Show run from January 1, 2024 to October 1, 2026.
- Once you have reserved and paid for your table space, please send your list of models to the show-holder for verification purposes no later than October 25, 2026.
- A show held in a nearby region during this period may apply to be included as a qualifier. Each out-of-region request will be considered on a case-by-case basis. (If you have a model you wish to enter that only qualified at a show outside of R2, you must inform the registrar about that model and what show it qualified at so that we may verify.) Show-holders for those shows must either provide 1st through 2nd place results for those shows to us by October 1, 2026 or those results must be available on the NAMHSA website.
- Entries close at midnight PST on October 25, 2026. Entrants must first register and pay for their table space to reserve a spot. All models (with the exception of the Last Chance and the Youth show entries) must be pre-registered and prepaid. Your horse lists must be submitted and paid for by October 25, 2026. After you have registered and paid for your table space, you MUST submit a model horse entry list if you are entering the Champ classes. You may submit your model list as soon as you wish and may add/delete to the list up until the closing date. In consideration for show management and its volunteers, please limit your changes to as few as possible. Thank you!
- Model fees are $1.00 per horse per class. Example: a model is entered in Arabian Breed and Arabian Workmanship - this would be a $2.00 entry fee.
- Any unqualified model may enter the "Last Chance" classes at the beginning of every section. These models should not be preregistered or prepaid since they will pay their fees at the show in cash. Do not include them on your model entry form and do not prepay for them. At show time, please place the $1 per horse/per class entry fee next to each model in these classes. Cash is required for ALL Last Chance models. NO OTHER FORMS of payment will be accepted. (Do NOT ask show management to run a "tab" for you...bring $1 bills to the show!). Models placed in the Last Chance classes without their $1 bills will NOT be judged!
- Models from the Last Chance classes that place 1st or 2nd may advance to the appropriate Champ class that follows at no extra charge.
- View your show results and verify your models eligibility.
